I have a 2001 ford Escape with a v6 and is a 4x4. The check engine light is on even after I changed an oxygen sensor that Auto Zone diagnosed was the problem and they used their ob2 reader. The code was a P1511. My car gets horrible gas mileage and is gutless. It also idles irratically when I pull up to a stop sign. It also shifts awkward now. It will shift into a higher gear for example when Im driving up a hill instead of a lower gear to get the RPMs up and and it will kind of bog down until I press the accelerator to get it to shift and get my RPMs up again. Why didn't my check engine light go off and why is my car still acting this way. What can I do to fix this without taking it in to the dealer cuase Im kind of broke. Anyones help is greatly appreciated. thanks

I may have the code backwards. It Might be P1151. It is for the O2 sensor and it did get replaced. Is there a posibility that it could be the catalytic converter or the throttle body air adjuster right before the intake manifold? I also replaced the egr valve.
