I have a 2001 ford Escape with a v6 and is a 4x4. The check engine light is on even after I changed an oxygen sensor that Auto Zone diagnosed was the problem and they used their ob2 reader. The code was a P1511. My car gets horrible gas mileage and is gutless. It also idles irratically when I pull up to a stop sign. It also shifts awkward now. It will shift into a higher gear for example when Im driving up a hill instead of a lower gear to get the RPMs up and and it will kind of bog down until I press the accelerator to get it to shift and get my RPMs up again. Why didn't my check engine light go off and why is my car still acting this way. What can I do to fix this without taking it in to the dealer cuase Im kind of broke. Anyones help is greatly appreciated. thanks

I may have the code backwards. It Might be P1151. It is for the O2 sensor and it did get replaced. Is there a posibility that it could be the catalytic converter or the throttle body air adjuster right before the intake manifold? I also replaced the egr valve.

I don't know how you can get OBD II codes wrong, but maybe it should be re-scanned, at a different place. It looks like that code is just for BMWs.

Code P1511 is a boost control problem on a Toyota, and an idle control motor problem on a BMW. You need to have someone that's familiar with Ford scan this one. I couldn't find that code listed anywhere on the internet for Ford.

p1511 i just checked is a idle switch circuit failure. not related to the oxygen sensor. good luck!

do on no account flow to Autozone for them to "diagnose" your verify engine mild. They dont take the greater advantageous steps to aim and choose why that code is comming on. maximum in all probability your oxygen sensor replaced into super and something else is making your mild some on...does sound like a catalytic. even although, sorry, yet you will could pay to have a storage diagnose your project....yet please do not take it to the broking...till in case you like dropping money.
