That was just today, last friday i saw it in my neighbors window just standing there, then i looked down to get my keys to run into my house and then it disappeared from the window. Then later i heard footsteps from my second floor when no one was home and i was 100% sure of that. The figure has appeared numerous times and it is really really freaking me out, but it hasn't made any movements to make me consider it dangerous. What should i do?

You might want to:
get a voice recorder and talk to it (find out what there name is, why it is there etc.)
or
set up a camcorder and tape it (see where it always seems to appear)
or
try contacting Ghost Hunters.
i watch them all the time, (haven't met them but they all seem really really nice. maybe they can help you with your dark ghost)

There are entities looming around, they a practical jokers in the flesh but try to get there spirits to do some dirty work. At the moment they can harm us, but in 99 days there spell will disappear forever, you may here in odd crack in the ceiling or a thump but that will be about the extent which is no big deal

okay first of all if you just saw it out of the corner of your eye or saw it clearly when your eyes were moving then it is just your brain interpreting visual cues and making you think you see someone (i have had that happen to me lots of times before) but if you have stopped and saw it clearly while you and your eyes were not moving (i mean like if you just stared at it without moving for ten seconds or longer) then i am not sure what to tell you other than you need to try tosay something to it and see what it does. such as "if you can hear me and understand me then please step to the left" or "are you wanting to harm me? if yes wave to me if no stomp twice" or anything that it can answer without saying anything because true ghostscan't speak plainly an you `and i.

In my opinion and experience, the best thing you could do is call a paranormal investigator. Be weary of who you allow to investigate, though. You would benefit from an investigation team that deals in science and not frills. Be cautious of groups that charge for services. They may be more inclined to "produce" evidence in order to justify getting paid. Most groups that are true to the science do not charge. The best approach would be to get a group that tries to prove a place isn't haunted. They often turn up the most truthful answers.

There are usually two reasons for this phenomenon...
a) Mundane - someone was actually in your house....even if they should'n't have been. I had the feeling that someone was watching me (eerie) and always heard footsteps upstairs when I came home out of my regular pattern. Turns out it was a neighbor kid who was coming in to rifle my undie drawer (ew!). His parents were MORTIFIED and the whole family ended up moving away shortly after.
b) Paranormal - check your local listings (either in yahoo or the yellow pages) for Spiritualist churches or services. Alot of the time, they'll have someone read your home for free or low cost... they can also get you to someone who can banish your supernatural creepy, whether it's previously human or demonic.

Sounds just like you saw an illusion out of the corner of your eye, and it spooked you. Then when you heard the natural knocks that houses make (wood expansion/contraction, plumbing, etc), you interpreted as footsteps of the specter you thought you saw.

Someone is living amongst you all? What used to be a street person and just wants to stay warm?

I heard footsteps twice behind me when I was going down my stairs in a place I lived once. I later found out it was the floor boards of where/how they were attached to a side board which was attachedwhich was attached.....so made that sound.

Is one of your kids home? A neighbors son?

Give us a little more information?

You *perceived*a dark shadow. When we see something our brain tries to make sense of it by assigning it an existing identity it already is familiar with based on its shape. The same thing with sound. You see a shadow whose shape resembles a human and your brain tells you its a person. You hear sounds that resemble footsteps, so your brain tells you somebody's walking.

I have heard of a forum member, whose dad used to walk through the garden, and was sometimes seen in the kitchen when most of the family were out. It was said he was keeping an eye on them and the house. He had been dead over 6 years.

Could it be a passed family member just looking after you?

it would desire to have been an optical phantasm. in case you stare at a picture for awhile, then look away, you will often see a imprecise, shadowy after-image, in opposite coloration. So i'm guessing you have been finding at a guy or woman wearing white or gentle colorings in the magazine, and once you without notice appeared up, you will possibly see a faint image of a guy or woman in black, superimposed on your room.
