8 or 16 game playoff system. Seed the teams 1-8 or 1-16 and put them in a bracket just like the NCAA basketball tourney. Just assign a bowl game to each round. Keep the other random bowl games for the teams that don't make the tourney.

BCS is BS. A computer cannot tell us who deserves to play for the national title. The computer said Ohio State was #1 and Florida was #2 last year, and Ohio State got CRUSHED in the title game.

Boise State should have played for the national title last year! The only undefeated team, and look at what they did to Oklahoma! Some of the best football plays of all time were in that game as they did those trick plays in the final minutes with the game on the line.

College football needs at least 8 playoff teams in my opinion, with a 1 vs. 8 2 vs. 7 etc first round, a 1/8 vs. 4/5, 2/7 vs. 3/6. 2nd round, and then the title game. That's 3 weeks and it would be so much more fair.

Lets everyone be real for a minute. If your team is not playing for a National Championship you are always going to complain. When we used the Bowl season to decide the National Champion every one complained when there team was not the NO.1 team. You could put 65 teams in there and there are still going to be 64 teams fans complaining about who is Champion and who should have won it if? Lets just except the fact that if you are not in a BCS conference and you do not win all your games you are pretty much out of it unless you are LSU....

I'D PREFER THAT COLLEGE FOOTBALL HAVE A 65 TEAM PLAYOFF SYSTEM, JUST LIKE MARCH MADNESS IN COLLEGE BASKETBALL!! IT SOUNDS LIKE ALOT OF TEAMS, BUT REALLY IT'S JUST ENOUGH!! JUST, AS IN MARCH MADNESS, HALF THE TEAMS ARE ELIMINATED AFTER ONE WEEKEND AND LOOK AT HOW MANY TEAMS AND THE DIFFERENT MATCHUPS MAKE IT MORE INTERESTING TO SEE ON TV!! WITHOUT MARCH MADNESS, WHO WOULD CARE ABOUT A RATING OF THE NUMBER ONE TEAM!! WE WANT ACTIONS AND SURPRISES, NOT A JOURNALIST TELLING US WHO'S NO#1!! LOOK AT APPALACHIAN ST. BEATING MICHIGAN, THAT WAS AWESOME FOR FANS TO SEE!! WHAT DO YOU THINK?

The BCS system is terrible. I was watching some BCS countdown show and they literally said "The BCS is better than a playoff," "There would be just as much controversy in a playoff system," "every game is a playoff," " and both Ohio State and LSU deserve to be in the championship." It was complete propaganda.

Any further argument would just beating a dead horse- the only people that like the BSC system are the people that get rich off of it.

The BCS works perfectly. Oh sure I don't like it. Almost everyone says they don't like it. Thing is don't the people keep watching the games? Quick how many of you aren't watching the BCS games and are boycotting the sponsors? I mean ok I can accept not boycotting Allstate if it is already your insurance company, but what about the others. So do you REALLY want a playoff or do you just want to complain? As I said I am for a playoff, but think the BCS is working just fine.

Yes! D-I FBS (formerly I-AA) needs to have a playoff as the BCS system is crap. The NCAA should establish a 16-team playoff consisting of the eleven conference champions (yes including the lowly Sun Belt champs) and five at-large berths to replace all of these meaningless bowl games.

Uh Matt, have you not realized that all the other divisions of college football have a playoff system already in place?

Whoa there cougar. 65 teams is way too many. There are only 120 teams in D-I FBS compared to 341 in Division I basketball. 16 teams is more than enough for a playoff.
