I did a four year Bachelors in Performing Arts and was told by my Head of Acting I would never make it to professional theater

I did

The proudest moment of my life was when I was in the opening night of Grand Hotel - The Tony award winning musical directed by Tommy Tune

I was the first person on stage to open the show and in the audience were an invited guest of 2,000 celebrities and journalists.

The first night party was in London's Ritz hotel and I was interviewed and in a national newspaper the next morning

Fifteen minutes of fame doesn't last long but Wow it was fun!

I remember it as clearly as today.

I was writing furiously. How did you spell "aimer" in the third person again? I seemed to have forgotten every single thing I learned in class... but I persevered anyway. Only a few more lines left, and I would have accomplished it. It was my dream to do this, and all that was separating me from my joy and pride was a small closing sentence.

"Ils vécurent ensemble pour le restant de leurs journées. La Fin."

I finished my first novel, in french. A total of 80 pages. In the first grade.

THAT was my greatest accomplishment.

Saving the life of a three year old.....I was at a friend's barbecue about three years ago...he had all his work colleagues there and their children. There was one (stupid) couple who had three young kids, and they allowed their 3 year old son to hang out in the pool with those inflated "wings" that go around the biceps. Everyone was on the other side of the yard getting food, but the child was left in the pool. I happened to walk over to the pool and noticed that the three-year old was at the bottom of the ten-foot deep part of the pool...his "wings" had slipped off and and were floating on the water, but he had gone straight down. I dove in and pulled the child out. No one, except me, saw what had happened. Another two or three minutes would have been the end for that child. Kind of hard to accomplish anything greater than saving a three year old's life. Just glad I was where I was when I was!
