Scoop up excess wax with a spatula or a spoon.

Lay the tablecloth on an ironing board, and place a plain paper sack over the wax stain. Apply a warm (not hot) iron to the paper. Replace the wax-saturated paper bag as needed. Continue until wax is no longer transferring to the paper

Treat colored candle stains with a prewash stain remover, or apply detergent directly on the spot prior to washing. (Remember to pretest spot removers and stain removers in an inconspicuous area prior to treating stains.)

Launder the tablecloth with detergent in the hottest water that's safe for the fabric. Wax-based stains must be melted to be removed from the fabric fibers.

Make sure the stain is completely removed before placing your tablecloth in the dryer. If you're unsure, wash, wash again.

Pick off what you can, then place the linen wax-side down on a brown paper bag and iron it. The wax will melt off and the bag will absorb it.

try boiling hot water in a big pan and dipping affected area in it a minute at a time because of the low temperature needed to melt wax I've never tried it but it makes sense because your washing machine doesn't get that

My friends do this. They say it works every time:
Simply put the tablecloth in the freezer. It doesn't damage the tablecloth. Then take it out and peel the wax off.

Mikayla got it right.....put a piece of wax paper over the wax, then use a warm iron over it...the wax will melt onto the paper and can be lifted off. It works on almost anything...I just removed wax from my carpet in the same manner.

cover the area with newspaper or paper. Iron the area. The wax goes onto the paper. Another way is to freeze the area with ice.

Freeze the tablecloth and the wax will become hard for you to peel off.
