Before I get to answerin' , let me get to this ;D :
[everbrook, Obama went to a CATHOLIC school in Indonesia, and a just plain SCHOOL , that was secular, with all sorts attending . There was a story about his time in Indonesia , on Yahoo, yesterday . I'll see if I can find it . ( Don't believe every right wingnut ranter , just because it's in virtual print. ;D)
YO OVERBROOK! : http://news.yahoo.com/s/bloomberg/20071230/pl_bloomberg/aimm5qqem3ou;_ylt=AoouwPxRWg75pwvgaSy1ScMDW7oF
That from Bloomberg News, no less, owned by a potential opponent of Obama. =))))) Now can we get on to something that actually matters?]
Firing of the US attorneys isn't the biggest part of that scandal , it's what happened with some of the ones that kept their jobs . The one involved in the '06 Wisconsin governor's race , in particular . It was in '06 , but the details came out in the last few months . An innocent woman was falsely accused of corruption, tried, and convicted, in a very rushed case , designed to influence the election. The federal appeals judge who released her late this summer scolded the prosecution, calling it "Beyond flimsy!".You can argue about a lot of things, 'til the cows come home , but using the DOJ and the courts to influence elections is way beyond debatable.
Here's the details : The woman was on a procurement board, with 6 other people . She had met the governor at some function, and pictures were taken. She didn't know him personally. In the bid in question, the contract was awarded to the lowest bidder, by a unanimous vote . The winner had made contribution(s) to the governor at some point in his political career, but had no relationship with the woman.
She was charged with improperly awarding the bid, as if she did it all by herself . The case was hurried, so that the trial and conviction occured just before the election . The GOP ads portrayed her as the governor's right-hand woman , and a big-time influence peddler, and implied that the governor must be involved . I'll see if I can find links to the story .
That's just one case . There's others where the US attornies that didn't get fired were involved in questionable ( at least!) activities .

2007? It's hard to pick just one, there has been so many political scandals this year. I would have to go with Gonzales testimony to congress "I do not recall" then resigning when things got too hot. Karl Rove stepped down and all the rats started jumping ship.

Bhutto being assasinated due to poor security. She should have had much better security.
How about Mike Shuckabee passing himself off as a conservative. He is as liberal as Rudy G. on many issues.
The media, especially Fox News, ignoring Ron Paul. It's obvious Fox News wants Giuliani to be president.

the fact that the media is more willing to cover britney spears than how people really feel about iraq, immigration, the direction of the country, etc.
oh, and how cheney is able to keep key documents away from congressional investigators, including his budget, the number of staffers he has, who he met with to design a national energy policy, etc.

Hilary Clinton had undercover planted college student in the audience of both the Democratic and Republican CNN Debates. Both secret representatives were given the opportunity to ask questions, and CNN had no idea that those people were working for Clinton.
