Greek mythology is fascinating. It tells the story of a people. Please note that each story usually means something else, that it is much deeper than it seems. It's the Greeks story about the beginning of man kind I find very interesting. It seems they talk about Venus springing from Jupiter's head and while that sounds obvious, I wonder if they aren't telling the story about what was really going on in the heavens such as a collision among planets or asteroids. Did the ancient Greeks see something that we put much further back in history. And then everytime there is a celebration there are light shows going on in the sky. Is that what's left over from the collision burning up in the sky. There's an old Russian astronomer that claims that in man's time there was a major collision and his proof is caves stuffed full of animal bones as if the animals were pounded into the caves. And these are all over the world. The book is Worlds In Collision and I will slaughter his name-Vilokowski-or something like that. Just a thought. . .And if you like all the Greek stuff, read a modern English version of Beowolf. When men were men and they did a great deed so that they would be talked about around the fires and they would be remembered. Beowolf is remembered only because the priests were around to write it down and it is a amother great tale from long ago. And if you have the chance and I assume you are in school, try to take literature classes along with history. History tells you the story of the victors while literature tells you the story of the people. I love history and literature just made it so much more interesting.

I was fascinated with Greek mythology when I was younger. I like Angels, so the mythical figures or Eros, Cupid, and Icarus were my favorites. I like Pegasus too, but related more with the winged human figures. I still find it intriguing, but not as much as I did a few years ago. To be more creative, I think it would be really cool to get to meet such a mythical being, or better yet become one for a day or week, or month!
