I washed mine recently. I took all the slats down and then rolled them up and put them in a pillow case which I tied at the top. I then put them in the automatic washing machine on a 30 degree wash. They came out looking as good as new without fraying.

You have the answer already. Put them in a pillowcase or duvet cover and wash them on a gentle cycle at 30 degrees. Iron them immediately when you take them out if the machine. This will flatten them out and dry them off a good bit. Then just hang as normal. I did this recently and found it so much easier than the way I used to clean them in the bath.

What i do is , after you have taken the blinds down fold them as neatly as you can, put into a large duvet cover and was on a wool wash , then just hang then when they have finished that way they wont crease. they will dry perfect them selves

Dish washer will be too hot for them. Soak them in a bath overnight in cool water with some mild detergent then rinse them with a little fabric conditioner. Drain all the water off then hang them while they are still damp. That way they'll be crease-free.

i put my cloth ones in the washing machine on a quick low temp wash and they came out clean, but i'm convinced they were a bit shorter than they were before?! Try soaking them in the bath with detergent then give them a good rinse.
