Any of the big three are going to give you good results: Canon, Epson, HP. But the next level of question is just what do you want to do? What size photos do you want to print? What kind of camera do you have? Are you planning to have these pictures last a long time? Are you going to "fix" or adjust the photos (for example, load the photos onto your computer and then use Photoshop or something similar to manipulate them) or just want to directly print them from your camera? What kind of memory card does your camera use? (Some photoprinters have memory card slots built in. They are usually multiple slots so the printer can take almost any kind of card, which is cool because it means if your camera uses one kind of card and your friend has a camera that uses a different type, but she wants to share photos she took, she could let you plug her card in and print photos from her card.)

You might want to go to an electronics/computer store or even a camera store and get some information, take a look at printers. There is such a wide variety of choices that you need to have a pretty good idea just what you want to do. There are printers that are designed to just plug your camera into directly and print snapshot size (usually 4 x6), but you might get more value from a larger printer.

Also visit the websites of printer manufacturers.

Right now I use a Canon Pixma iP4300, a pretty good printer. I can get very good 8 x10 (cropped) prints on this printer, using a good quality printer paper. (A little bit of extra info for you: you do NOT have to use printer paper made by the company that makes your printers. I'd recommend Kodak photo printer paper; Kodak does a cool thing on their website: they show a list of printers and give you recommendations for the best settings on your specific printer to get good results; sometimes there is info the printer manufacturer won't tell you, like I found out that my printer did something I suspected it did: tends to print too much magenta ink.)

Anyway, good luck, I hope that isn't too much information!
