Rather than hear those blowers going all the time? Do you think it is time we go back to push mowers? No noise and it still does a good job?

Whichever method you folks use - we prefer the rake method btw - we hope you all remember to put the leaves in black bags and leave them somewhere out of the way to rot down. After a couple of years you will have the best there is to add to your flower beds and containers to put goodness into all your plants, shrubs and flowers. I drive Tc bonkers in the Autumn when I see fallen leaves all over the place just laying there doing nothing usefull. We leave ours on our beds and borders to let Mother Nature take care of them. But we do have a couple of black bags tucked behind our shed that we put there last year. Next year we should have some nice, crumbly stuff to add to our homemade compost.

Using a rake is very hard work. That is what I have been using though. First I mow in circles and ''round up'' the leaves into a few small piles. Then I use a large peice of material to lay down beside the piles of leaves and rake the leaves onto the material which I drag to the curb. My city sends a ''leaf sucker'' around to suck up all the leaves. Next year I am getting a blower to use for some areas.

I'm with Pat Moor on this one. I used to rake all the leaves up into a pile and fall backwards into them. Nothing smells better than freshly raked leaves. I agree Wally, let's move away from all those noisy contraptions!

Hi Wally Y, right now all I hear are snowblowers and snow removal trucks. They're pretty noisy too, but I'm glad they're doing their job. The noise of leaf blowers, snow blowers, etc., doesn't really bother me unless it's too early in the morning.

I love to rake leaves and play in them and then rake them up again. Noise polution is out of hand these days.

As long as I don't have to be out there doing it myself, they can use whatever method they choose. At least when they use the blowers, it goes pretty quickly.

Brooms would be fine on concrete but in soil it would be a lot easier with a rake.

I ignore it or have someone else do it because I am spoiled.
