I don't think this is a cookie cutter operation so the varying degrees to which they perform in the aforementioned inquisition is so vast the Grand Canyon cannot describe its width.

my mom, brother and oldest daughter all have rather high IQ's and they are some of the most wonderful, compassionate, people I know. They are all perfectly fine in both social and academic situations. They all have many other positive attributes. I also work for a couple who both have high IQ's- and although a little strange in some ways, they also are perfectly wonderful people!

I suppose it would depend on the person. My husband is is a bit of a loner, quiet and shy. My brother-in-law is very out going and fun. Both of them have High IQs. Most people with high IQs can excel academically but socially it would depend much more than on just their IQ

I'm friends with a guy who has been a member of Mensa for 25 years and he's the most charismatic person I know. He's a very charming guy, but he'll chew your ear off if once he starts talking -- especially if he starts talking about electronics and computers. He has a very foul mouth and uses the word "dude" a lot. As for conformity (as somebody mentioned), he once dabbled in the illegal narcotics trade when he was younger, and in doing so has been witness to a lot of violence, including the time the person he was with and standing next to had his head blown off.
I have an uncle who has a very high IQ. He is an inventor (he invented a few devices, including the device that allows miners to implode rock, instead of blowing it up), he's also business owner, and a geological engineer. On top of that, he's also one of the most charismatic people I know. He and his wife have an almost Norman Rockwell-esque lifestyle. They live on a beautiful farm, and he's often telling jokes, stories, or playing his ukelele or banjo while everybody else gathers around and sings.

IQ's are rather irrelevant. I never study, finish my homework 2 seconds before class starts, and spend class time acting idiotic, chewing gum, and discussing random things with the teacher. I've been called rebellious and a non-conformist, and am the furthest thing from a nerd ever. And yet, I've skipped a year of math, and considered gifted, and get high honors. Our IQ's are based on how we react in logical situations.
