I try to do that in daily life no matter what. I figure I've got things pretty good and live a fairly cushy life compared to many others in the world. I try to remember how fortunate I am when I'm feeling down on myself and that seems to keep things in perspective.
I learned to do that from a very early age... my close cousin Jenny had cancer and even though her life was hell she always tried to look on the bright side of things. I figured if she could do that with the hell she was going through then I certainly could!
