is this not the process for culling out the plasma from blood for example?

You are correct about the blood they spin it in the plastic bag they take it from the donor in and the red part goes to the bottom of the bag. They then squeeze the bag and push the plasma through a tube into another plastic bag. They can then mix the red part with some saline and give back to the donor so that the donor can then give more blood. The plasma they can store and use but what they can also do is to put it into liquid nitrogen which freezes it. Then they let it thaw gradually. Then they centrifuge it again and the cryo-precipitates separated out then if they squeeze the plasma off they can freeze the cryo-precipitates which can be used to treat hemophilia as it is the part that causes the blood to clot

yeah it is, all it does is send the "heavier" stuff in blood or anything else to the bottom of the test tube and leaves a homogenate on top, the more the spin it the finer particles you obtain at the bottom
