I just turned 25, so we are probably closer in age to you. I don't know ANYONE who was together in high school who still is. However, myself and many of my friends have married people we KNEW from high school but never dated back then. My husband was just the guy who sat next to me in AP English Lang. We met up a few years later when we were both in college, and that's when the sparks really flew. So, you never know. That guy who sits in the back of your Biology class might turn out to be he love of your life.

I think, maybe, the reason most high school romances don't work out is because high school is SO different from the rest of your life. In college (I think for most people), you are on your own, have finally developed a sense of self that isn't controlled by your parents, and have probably experienced dating a few other people. Quite a few of my friends from college have married their college sweethearts over the years, including me.

We've been married nearly 4 years, and so far, so good:)

I know a couple dated throughout JR high and high school for 10myeras finally married and have been together for almost 20yrs now with 2 kids so it can work. Most relationships can work it depends on how much your willing to devote to keeping it strong.

I'm not divorced YET and hopefully I can patch things up. Husband not on great terms (and before you ask, yes it was my fault... ugh!).

At least as of right this moment I'm still married!

I married my high school sweat heart, even though we went to different schools, I was 17 he was 18. We have 2 boys, and just celebrated our 26 years anniversary. This usually doesn't work out nowadays.

I married my high school sweetheart when I was 21 (after we had twin sons together) and I divorced him 3 years later. I don't know anyone who is still with their high school sweetheart; all my friends and my sister, had ended it by early 20s.
