I use both my hyphenated (i.e.,smith-moore) and married (moore) depending on what its for and was told by a bank clerk that I can only legally use one. I have ID's in both.

I don't even think that would constitute an alias.

How may out there have Dave and David ? I know I have Ken and Kenneth, depending on the account. Granted those are first names, but the same confusion often occurs.

Having two ID's (like two drivers licenses) that's illegal.

Besides...a bank clerk is just someone who was too slow to work behind the counter at McDonalds.

The bank is correct. Your ID has to be just one in regards to the bank. In regard to the state if you get pulled over this will become a very expensive issue.

You cannot use both and there is a reason for it.

Use only the Smith-Moore so that you will have no conflicts or questionable entries on your records.
