That way people would be reluctant to star questions,
unless the questions were actually Worth Starring.
I see a lot of crap starred, and I think this would help.

I would still star whatever I wanted. The points mean nothing to me. What are you going to do with those points? If I get deleted, I can't take them with me. I star almost all of my contacts questions and will keep doing that no matter how many points it takes.

I agree. Some people beg to be starred. Why? I think stars should be worth at least 1 point to show it was a good question. Or, if you got at least 25 answers, you got an exta point.

No. Just a nice way to alert your friends when you find a question you think is fun. Everyone has their own opinion of what that may be.
