The traditional day is January 6th, aka "Little Christmas" or "Ephiphany" (or Three Kings Day, or the 12th Day of Christmas). Frankly, I take mine down on New Year's Day. By January 6th, I'd be good and sick of the tree.

From what I remember, it's New Year's Day or a few days thereafter.

Generally on Jan 6.....but if it's on your last nerve.... take it down

After New Year's Day. Many do so on that weekend after. One uptight guy I know does so on Dec. 26.

Each family has its own traditions..including when to take down the tree.
In my family, the tree comes down the day after Twelfth Night/Three Kings Day/Epiphany/12 Days Of Christmas...the day that supposedly the wise men actually arrived in Bethlehem.

you should take it down on the epiphany which is on jan. 6th

I think most people take it down the first Saturday after the New Year.

If I remember correctly in old times it was actually left up until February 1st and then they were burned. It was bad luck if they were disposed of any other way. Also they say if you cut a piece of you tree off and leave it in a bowl of water it will determine how you next year will be. If it is still alive on New Years Eve you will have a good year. If it is dead or wilting the year will not be so good.

you should always take it down before the start of the new year,it is a part of the old year.You don't want it to be apart of the new year.The reason you should take it downas soon as possible is also safety reasons.
