It's not just baseball it's just about every pro sport. Owners are making more money than ever and they are willing to pay players record contracts.

Even though i am a yankee fan, I believe Arod is totally paid too much. Now you see other players make a lot of money but they put a lot of it to a good cause to help people who need the money. Now, do u see arod doing any of that. He is great ball player obviously but all he cares about is himself and how much everybody else thinks about him. Thats why the year before last he did so porely.

Even though I am a Yankee fan, I don't think A-Rod, or anyone for that matter, is worth close to $30 million a year.

Arod should not get so much money, even though people are willing to pay for that price. yea he's great, but baseball is coming to an end! With all the drugs, and all this money people are getting paid for, illegal things....

c'mon players and fans just because your fans of arod doesnt mean that you have to agree that he should get a lot of money!!!

Baseball, as well as most other sports, is big business and these players are being compensated according to their market value. Owners acquired their money, in part, because they know how to invest and a players value is based on his contribution to the organization and not what you or I think he should be making.

Yeah, he deserves it. He is the greatest player at the moment, and Will probably be the best player of all time(sorry Babe and Hank). If somebody is willing to give him the cash its not his fault. He's not the one who opened the box, he may have hit a few home runs in its direction, but he didn't open it. And FYI, I don't think hes a baby or arrogant.....well, maybe a baby. But not arrogant.

If someones willing to pay it i guess so. I personally think all the Saleries are way to high. But then again the teams are still making money w/ the high contracts so more power to em.
