I just caught one I've put him in an old hamster cage shall I set him free. Its cold ouside and he's only little.

Set it free. They're built to survive cold weather, otherwise there'd be alot of dead mice around! He'll get stressed and anxious if you keep him in an environment he's not used to.

Ew...if it is a wild one, set it free. It could have diseases or something on/in it.

Was he in your house? I would put him outside or maybe in a garden shed so he's not too exposed to the cold.

Aww, the poor dear. Oh it's cold where I live too. You should keep him til' the warm weather is there and when he's an adult. However, that is a wild mouse and you could catch deceases, but whatever. While you have him, go by some food, food bowl, water bottle, & wood chips at least. If you'd like to keep him, check with your vet to see if he's "sickness" free.

Just set it free... it might survive, and it might not, but it is not up to you to keep it in a cage. It is very sweet of you and I know you want to do the best thing, but set it free and let nature take its course. Do you have a shed or garage? If so you could always release it in there, and you could even leave out some breadcrumbs soaked in cooking fat (which will give it warmth).

then set him free wehn he's strong enough to fend for himself, but away from where i live!
