No, you cannot see Jupiter with that scope; or any other visual scope. We are in the wrong season, and it will be a few months before Jupiter comes up at night. You should be able to see Mars rising from the East at around 8:00PM and Saturn a few hours after that. The etx 125 should give you nice views of both. For best results, start as low power, and take it up to around 240x. That would help you to find and center your target; and anything above 240x really requires excellent collimation and really good seeing conditions.

Clear skies!

Geoff and Bobby are both correct. The scope should be capable of seeing Jupiter, Mars, Saturn, surface features on the Moon, as well as some nice double stars and clusters. However, the eyepiece you mentioned is gonna be more trouble than its worth. Start with a 10 - 15 mm, if that gives a nice, clear, centered image, then go ahead and try the 4.7. -- I think you'll like the lower mag better. Also, if you are using an erecting prism to see terrestrial objects, I would get it out of there for astronomy. Just one more thing in the way.

Yikes! A 4.7mm eyepiece in a Meade ETX125 would give over 400x, more than twice that scope is capable of! The image will be so blurry as to be useless.
