I can jump up and put my fingers in the hoop but I just can't jump quite high enough to put my hands in. I lift weights 3-4 days a week, but I don't really work my legs, are there any exercises that would help build the muscle I need to jump higher? Or any tricks to dunking eaiser?

you're just young. don't mess with weights too much on your legs. what you want to work on is you snap reflex... this is what will give you the explosion you need in your lift so you can dunk. do calf lifts with no weights, you want to build your snap reflexes not slow down the development with weights at your age. stretching, jump rope, another one is putting your head and back against the wall and making a chair shape with your legs and holding a basketball head level so the ball is directly in front of you with your ams extended... trust me you will feel your thighs and legs burn from this. this will build strength in your hips, thighs, mid-section, calves and arms and shoulders. i was 5'7" and 16 before i could dunk so its not that far away from you. just don't stunt your growth by doing weights right now. be patient. once you start to fill out and your body gets stronger then go and get some leg weights or those shoes with the lifted soles. besides some of the best ballers in the game weren't true dunkers, just tall enough to dunk.

Hey. I'm 13 too and I'm 5'7" or 5'8" (i don't know which) and I don't know how much I weigh but I can dunk on a 8'5" hoop (which alot of people think is amazing because I'm a girl but whatever). What I do to work out my legs is go to wall and do wall sits they hurt like crazy but it really works out your legs and you don't have to do alot of work (like running).

You need to stretch your muscles and ligaments in your legs. Lifting weights will help you get stronger but you need stretch and long muscle fibers for jumping.

Try jump roping, it gets you in shape, and
it helps the leg muscles a lot.
I wouldn't advise jump soles
(they help build muscles while you walk with them on your shoes) yet, when you become older they will help.
But for now, while your maturing your body,
don't use them.
