A presidential candidate. Congressman Ron Paul is the most intelligent, compassionate, consistent & authentic man running. He plans to end the war in Iraq (phased redeployment, while securing stability in the country as we bring our troops home), lower taxes for middle class families by restraining government spending & returning to fiscal responsibility, balance the budget, secure borders & end amnesty for illegals, reform health care making it affordable, reliable & available, ensure that all veterans receive the benefits they have earned & the assistance they need.. He’s genuinely for a transparent government that looks out for our well being not their own self interests!

A Republican nominee for president who stands for Constitutionalist and Libertarian principles.
He hates the war, taxes, secretive government, abuse of power, and the patriot act.
He loves peace, prosperity, democracy, government following the constitution, and freedom.
He is the last hope for average Americans to regain control of their country away from special interests, corporations, and tyrants on both sides.
Ron Paul 08!

He sounded appealing until I heard one of his speeches. Sorry I can't be more specific because it was a month or two ago. Whatever it was, creeped me out to the point I decided Paul was off my list of possibilities. I sensed an ugly underbelly that I decided I wanted no part of. Again, I don't remember exactly what the issue was -- only that I found it overridingly unacceptable.

Maybe this reply wont get deleted like most of my replies... He's a 70+ year old Congressman from Texas with an impressive election record (defeated encumbants to win his seat mulitple times). He volunteered during the Vietnam War and was a flight surgeon, after the war he became an OBGYN and delivered near 4,000 babies (one of which was latin star Selena). He then moved into public office appealing for lower taxes, smaller federal government, and restoring state rights.
He has more money than anyone else on the GOP right now.

Ron Paul is a brilliant man who is running for president. Not only does he have the knowledge to run, but also the experience and the integrity. He wants to restore America back to the constitution. He is the only hope for America.

Brief Overview of Congressman Paul’s Record:

He has never voted to raise taxes.
He has never voted for an unbalanced budget.
He has never voted for a federal restriction on gun ownership.
He has never voted to raise congressional pay.
He has never taken a government-paid junket.
He has never voted to increase the power of the executive branch.

He voted against the Patriot Act.
He voted against regulating the Internet.
He voted against the Iraq war.

He does not participate in the lucrative congressional pension program.
He returns a portion of his annual congressional office budget to the U.S. treasury every year.

Congressman Paul introduces numerous pieces of substantive legislation each year, probably more than any single member of Congress.

He's a Republican Congressman, having served multiple terms from the state of Texas. In short, he stands for a return to Constitutional liberty: increased individual freedom and responsibility, a smaller federal government, less federal government interference in our lives, an advocate for states' rights, securing our borders, lowering government spending and taxes, and not policing the world with our military. You'll hear some supporters speak of him like he's the savior, while some detractors will write him off as a loon, kook, nut job, etc. As a supporter who believes that Ron Paul is only trying to do what he thinks is best, I hope that you'll check these two links, among others that will surely be posted, both for and against Ron Paul, and decide for yourself.
