Yup... and it makes it water soluble so if you cloth diaper an exclusively breastfed baby you just toss in the wash with no extra anything.
Formula is not easily digestible and it "reeks" (haha) havoc on the system, therefore causing more stink.

Yup, when my son was breastfed his poop was totally unoffensive. Not that it smelled good, but it wasn't really stinky at all. When he went to formula, things got pretty stinky. Now that he's 17months and eats all normal foods, oh man, don't ever let your face get anywhere near the Diaper Champ while changing the bag, that's all I have to say.

Yes, until you start solids, and then it just smells like poop.

Absolutely!! The food you eat has a direct effect on the bowels. Not only does breastmilk make the poo less stinky, but doctors say breastfed babies do not get constipated. Breastfeeding is so grteat for babies, but not all people can breastfeed.
I'd say if its an option for you; you should absolutely do it. It helps on so many levels....even poo!! :O)

The only thing I know is that I breastfeed my baby and her diapers aren't bad at all. My friend feeds her baby formula and she changed his diaper at my house and it stunk up the entire house for hours! So basically, yes, it is true that bf diapers are less stinky.

Formula remains in the baby's system longer, so it begins to ferment as a babies digestion cannot process formula as easily as natural breastmilk, which causes the " stinky poo ",
so yes it is actually true.

I think so....my daughter wasn't quite as smelly before she weaned me and I had to start her on formula. She's on soy now...and even that doesn't smell half as bad as the babies in her room who are on milked based formulas. but then again everyone does have their own unique smell as well.

My daughter's poop has no resemblance to mine... Pretty inoffensive stuff, really.
The smell is sort of akin to a den that's had half a bag of popcorn and a bit of beer left in it. Sort of yeasty-buttery.

I dunno. It seems it would vary based on what you've eaten.
