A bachelor’s degree in history from Yale in 1968, then served as an F-102 fighter pilot in the Texas Air National Guard. Master of Business Administration from Harvard 1975.

He has been ran a business, a sports team, and was Governor of one of the most diverse states in the country before becoming President.

In college his grades were better than KERRY or Gore's.
(and that was while he was DRUNK and on COKE--supposedly.)

Here is some of the books he read---for pleasure this year
________________
American Prometheus by Kai Bird and Martin Sherwin (a biography of Robert Oppenheimer, an inventor of the atomic bomb)

Clemente: The Passion and Grace of Baseball's Last Hero by David Maraniss (about the late all-star Pittsburgh Pirates right fielder)

Lincoln: A Life of Purpose and Power by Richard Carwardine

Lincoln's Greatest Speech: The Second Inaugural by Ronald C. White Jr.

Mao: The Unknown Story by Jung Chang
-
Those are not all of his list either.

It infuriates liberals that he is actually a lot smarter than he appears, he down plays himself to lull them into thinking they are smarter than him, end of the day he still defeats the liberal democrats in the house, everyone who though he would be a lame duck president after the dems took congress have been proved wrong. Bush is smarter than Kerry and gore put together and pretty much most of the people who have answered here.

There's reading, and then there's retention.

If reading implies literacy and knowledge, it follows one would have proper diction and accurately discuss fundamental concepts and details.

Draw your own conclusions.

Edit: There was this great line in an old Jerry Lewis movie ("Don't Give Up the Ship"): "He's too dumb to be that smart to play that stupid."

Bush GPA = 2.35
My GPA= 3.4

"He has been ran a business"? If you are talking about the failed oil business that he ran into the ground, then yes, you are correct.

Sports team? Didn't he preside over some pretty pathetic trades?

There are court records of his alcohol and drug use.

I read books too. Great, literacy does not equal comprehension.

I don't know whether or not I'm "smarter" than GWB, but I do know that I would have made different choices than he did, especially when it came time to decide whose counsel I would seek and who to surround myself with.

EDIT: I sure would like to know why I'm getting thumbs down on this answer. It is not a poor answer. It does not jump to conclusions. It attempts to answer the question legitimately. Perhaps those who are giving me thumbs down are offended by the question? Certainly my answer isn't offensive.
