If a poltical poll was taken of only one State, which State would best represent the nation?

Whoever says the Republic of Kalifornia represents the U.S. is an idiot.

Floridians are stupid and can't vote.

I'd say none of the above and this is a stupid question.

i may have a bias, (yea i do), but; i would suggest...if all the eligible voters in California were to take part in your suggested poll, California would represent the nation. just a review of county by county voting patterns suggests more "red" than "blue". however, the "blue" counties have higher population densities.

one more side note...if i recall correctly...early this year, census data revealed whites are no longer the majority race in the San Francisco bay area. and i think the obvious diversity is great.

Most states tend to lean one way or the other. As a whole however, left and right is split almost equally down the middle. States like California elect democratic senators and republican governors. Hmm go figure.

Such a state does not exist because the nation is more or less divided between rural and urban. What sate can recreate that?
