No. I'm sorry for the attrocities that have happened to my ancestors, and those of others. But they were not done to me. I cant accept conpensation for something I was not a victim of. If anything, people should be proud of their heritage and the strength they derive from coming from such humble backgrounds. Use that to do something better with your life and rise above the oppression. But if you're looking for a handout, the welfare office should be a short bus ride away.

Show Me The Money!!!!

Can I get reparations from England for "Le Grande Derangement"? because, like, the Queen made a formal apology to us. But Canada still kept our land.

Don't feel they were wronged, They were rounded up, the crops and villages were burned by the colonial army and were loaded on ships and sent to "America" to die of starvation. Pretty much historical fact. !750s holocaust.

Yes, if I thought that it resulted in a diminished capacity to live or earn a living. It should be tied to eliminating that diminished capacity. Such as education, seed money for a business, etc.

In a New York minute, honey.

And to all the kneejerk "No" answers I'm seeing, do yourself a favor and read some HISTORY about what was done to slaves and to the Native Americans in this country.

It will make you PUKE.

Yes. After all, money is given to people who aren't even citizens, and more money is given to people who aren't even in this country. They got my money, so why shouldn't I accept reparations? My ancestors were on The Trail of Tears. And to this day, the government of the USA has yet to honor 142 treaties they signed with Native Americans - some of those treaties were very simple, like getting clean water to reservations, classrooms, heating/AC, medical facilities.

Most people would accept free money.

But I think this is one of the worst things we could do as a nation is to pay people for being one race or another.

We should seek equal treatment under the law.

Yes.

But then I would also feel that since the government has made reparations and I accepted, I no longer have any right to whine about how how they held my people down. I would also think that I would from that point on need no favoritism under affirmative action.

But that is me. Most Americans take what they can get then whine for more anyway.

"racial ancestors"? I hope you are using "racial" in at least an acceptable manner.
But, now, I do not feel that any one owes me a living. Of course, I do not feel I owe anyone (the Government OR Illegals) a living.

No, if I did I would be profitting off the backs of my dead ancestors. Anyone who would accept that money is immoral. Make your own success don't depend on handouts.
