One cannot answer this question because the meaning of 'American' isn't clear:
- A person or attribute of South or North America
- A person or attribute of the indigenous peoples of South or North America
- A citizen or attribute of the ’United States of America’: the political correct term is 'US-American'
Which 'Americans' do you mean? From North or South America? And from which country in one of theese 2 continents called 'America'?
'American' for 'US-American' is geographically and politically not correct.

If you are looking for authentic patterns, there aren't any as native americans did not quilt. They used animal pelts to keep warm.
You can look at http://quilterscache.com to see if there's something there that will suit your needs.

The native americans had all different types of art forms for their quilts but it realy depends on what tribe you are talking about.
The quilts usualy depicted the life patterns of the family that made them, a little peace of fabric or some material was usualy used in making the quilt.
The patterns are usualy zigzag in designe and many times quilts are crimsen red with white or dark drown highlights around the edges.

There are many out there. Check at a local quilt store for the patterns. Otherwise you can use the native american pattern you like and put it to fabric.
