you could set it up as a proportion,
(x is the shadow)
10=90
--- ---
7 = x...........

when you simplify, x=63...... do the same thing with 180, and you get.....

x=126

Of course I could be a meany and ask what time of year as the sun will move and affect the shadow.

Since 90 is 9 times greater than 10, multiply 7 x 9 = 63. Now you do the 180 foot tall tree.......it's 18 times taller...so 18 times 7.....
