Who ever started the habit are keeping gillete and others in business. There are countries where it isn't done and it's no big deal (same with clothing issues in some tribal societies)
Personally, I think it's dumb, but it's a tradition that won't change anytime soon. (where ever/whatever gets shaved)

Yes, but at my age I seem to have less hair on my legs and more on my face!

I never was a very hairy person and I've found that the older I get, the less hair I seem to have on my legs. I havent had any underarm hair to speak of for many years. I just cant figure out why-if I'm not hairy-why does my moustache keep growing? I understand your reasoning, but if it's ok with you, I'm going to keep using Nair on my upper lip. My grandchildren complain when my "whiskers" interfere with their buzzes. Did I mention I'm a female?

Back before the caveman (Cave woman) days, the hair was there to keep people warm. When we started living in those caves and having fire, we evolved into not having as much. Most men shave their faces and women shave a lot more.
I like the shaved, feminine feel of a freshly shave woman as much as they like a freshly shaved face of a man.
When we were younger, we didn't have the hair we all have now and maybe it was started because men & women wanted feel younger. ?? It's only a theory. I know that I look older with a beard than I do clean shaven.

There's nothing feminine looking about hairy legs & underarms. I choose to be hygienically clean at all times.

I do, body hair totally disgusts me. Our body is a temple of God and we are supposed to respect it and take care of it. However, nowhere in the Bible does it say that shaving is wrong.
