Our ages are 40 - 55. No kids. I checked out the websites but It is so overwhelming. We are going for 5 days and renting a house 3 miles away. What are good, adult based activities? I leave in 3 days. Thanks all!

That is nice that you are taking a vacation with your friends. I would definitely recommend these places to you that I have heard are fantastic and I have been there.

1) Pleasure Island- Around 7 different clubs to go to each with a different theme. It is a lot of fun to go from the 70's to a Comedy Warehouse.... PERSONAL FAVORITE IS ATRAK or something like that.

2) La Nouba- This is a fantastic show which adults can really enjoy. Fantastic maneuvers and a great story behind all of the acrobatics.

3) The Theme Parks- OF COURSE THE PARKS =)! All 4 theme parks are a lot of fun and make sure to visit them all. I would say the best one for adults is Epcot, but all of them have adults things to do.

4) Water Parks- These water parks are a lot of fun for all ages. If you are really crazy, try to go down the biggest freefalling waterslide in the United States!!! If not, try the more mild rides or go hang out at the bar.

HAVE LOTS OF FUNNNNN!!!

Disney World does a great job of limiting very few rides/attractions to just one age group. However, I consider the most "adult" park to be Epcot; check out Soarin', Turtle Talk with Crush (not just for kids!), and Mission: SPACE and Test Track if you're into thrill(-ish) rides. But be sure and check out the World Showcase, which features presentations, shops, restaurants, and attractions from many different countries.

Also, visit Downtown Disney and perhaps the Boardwalk. The Boardwalk (which is at Disney's BoardWalk Inn & Villas and across the lake from Disney's Yacht & Beach Club) features a variety of shops, restaurants, carnival games, entertainers, and an art gallery. The easiest way to get to the Boardwalk is to walk from the Epcot exit/entrance in the World Showcase at Epcot; you can either walk (5-10 minutes) or take a short ride on a ferry boat.

Ultimately though, it's hard to go wrong with any park or aspect of Disney World. The only overtly child-centric area in the parks that I can think of is Toon Town in the Magic Kingdom, but even that you may be interested in checking it out if you have a bit of free time.

Since you are staying offsite find out which parks open early for resort guests and avoid that park that day. For example if Epcot opens early on a Tuesday for resort guests then don't go to Epcot that day. You can find that info on disboards . com Plus tons of info on the boards there. For your age range I'd suggest the shows in MK and maybe a few rides. All of Epcot especially the world showcase area. In AK I'd skip Kali River Rapids (you'll get soaked) and skip Mt Everest. Shows are good in AK and Tusker House is a good lunch restaurant there. In the Studios my family didn't care for much but the night time show is good. Don't forget the Downtown Disney area for shopping. For cheaper shopping check out the local outlet malls. In the evenings don't forget Pleasure Island if you enjoy bars...a calmer one is the Adventurers Club (comedy). Cirque du Soleil® - La Nouba is great but expensive!!

Everything there is fun. In the evenings you can go to Pleasure Island. There are several night clubs for dancing and a comedy club.

well, I'm 53 and I always go with my adult daughters and grandkids (we're going for a week in May again) and as far as I'm concerned, everything is just as cool for our age as for kids! Since it's your first time, you really need to try to get as much in as possible- ride everything, even Peter Pan and Dumbo!, go through the shops, try to hit all the parks. Do one a day and pick your favorite to repeat. We are doing 3 days at the Magic Kingdom, 1 at Epcot and 1 at Animal Kingdom. We're skipping MGM because there aren't too many rides for the 2 littler kids. I love Disney as much now as I ever did, and I've been going since I was a kid in Calif. Now we go to WDW since we live in TN now. Have a fabulous time!!!!
