I wish I knew more. I am no mechanic, so I hope someone more knowledgeable can help you. Do you live in a cold climate? I guess you know that diesels can take a while to warm up. I have a 2000 Ford Excursion 7.3L Diesel. It doesn't always warn me if there is a problem, or it just gives a generic warning light and it could be anything. Check the oil level, coolant level, or is there water in fuel? Check the battery connections, and test the alternator. Otherwise, a mechanic who specializes in diesels will need to run diagnostics to check everything, especially the sensors. Good luck!
