I have to work in the morning, and we can't stay up late or go out anywhere tonite; any fun and simple ideas how I can celebrate with my 5 year old daughter?

How about a special dinner, normal bedtime, with the alarm set to wake her up at midnight for a kiss?

I would say make a funfetti cake and read a great book together. If you could find some sparklers that would make a fun time. Celebrate early and explain the different time zones, Its going to be midnight somewhere!

get a cute plastic wine glass or colored margarita glass, mix sprite and fruit punch and drink out of those or get some Welches sparkling grape. Have finger foods and play board games!

You can even set the clock forward and celebrate new years at 9 or 10 instead of midnight. Just don't forget to set it back!!!
