Its possible that the throttle position sensor could have a bad spot in it causing it to hesitate.

You've likely got a clogged filter of some sort. The first two that come to mind are the fuel and air filters. They're both cheap, (about $5 each at Wal-Mart), and easy enough to repair. If you're unfamiliar with the process involved take it to a shop and have them do both. Your bill shouldn't be substantial at all. If it is even $60 I'd be surprised.
If it's not the filters than it may be bad fuel injectors, (or just some dirty injectors). Pick up some cleaner at your local auto store, or Wal-Mart, and run that through the car.
My last idea is a failing fuel pump. I've never seen another car do it, but when my pump was dying my car hesitated off the start a lot. After about a week of this it just died and wouldn't start again.
It's likely just a clogged fuel filter, but look into it before you're stranded!

Dirty plugs, bad leads, filters, dirty injectors.
Replace the plugs, plug leads, air, fuel and oil filters.
Run some injector cleaner through, and it should be fine.
If it still hesitates take it to a mechanic.
