Heavens no Child,
When I was 12
I was reading 6 books a week,
But Now at my age its hard to read.
I like people who read,
good for you, good for an enlish mark
KEEP UP THE AWSOME WORK.

I read just as much as you! I don't think it's possible to read to much.

Are you reading too much? Probably not, as long as you're actually reading the books.

Let me explain what I mean by that. I have two sisters, both younger than myself. The baby of the family could do exactly what you talk about doing with books a bit longer. If you've read the books, you could sit down and quiz her and and ask her opinion on a certain subject from the book and she'd be able to not only give you her opinion but give you an in depth analisys of that subject. So basically you'd know she actually read the book.

My other sister, on the hand, will claim to have read a book. And that's just what it is, a claim. You ask her opinion on something and she'll at first tell you it wasn't in the book (which would be one thing if she'd read an abridged version, but when she's reading a borrowed book or a twin copy to yours it's something else). Then when you point out where in the book she could find it she'll tell you she skipped over it. Eventually it will come out that at most she maybe read a quarter of the book, and usually closer to like 15%. But she would want you to believe she'd read the whole book.

Me, unless it's a simple book it will usually take me no less than a week to read one book. I read slowly, and a little at a time, usually before I go to sleep at night. So there is no way I'm going to ever make the claim that I read five books in five days.

But I have no doubt that there are others like my baby sister who could make the same claim as you have made. And that includes yourself. Does it mean you're reading to much? No, simply that your well read.

no not at all! I once read 30 books in one month straight, and they were different sizes like. 200 pages to 400 pages.

If you have that much spare time, and if you are still getting enough sleep, then yea, that's fine. But if you are getting a lack of sleep you will start wearing out your eyes. Also if you are not able to get things done (practicing piano, soccer, etc.) because of your reading, then you need to take some time to do those things. It is also good to get some exercise everyday. You shouldn't be reading all afternoon and evening, and not get a chance to run around outside, or ride on your bike.

I remember a few years ago I would read ALL the time. I started wearing out my eyes, my eyes started to hurt, and I had to go to the eye doctor to get eyeglasses. I am not sure if I had already needed glasses, or if the reading caused it, but reading for such periods of time certainly made them worse.

There's no such thing unless your grades are dropping, which at your age it's probably impossible to get bad grades.

I read a lot more than that (especially during breaks) and no one says I read too much. I think you're ok. ^.^

Reading's awesome. Keep reading. =D

Why would you be reading too much? Do you enjoy reading? Though you may want to slow down a bit, enjoy the book and the characters. But read!!!! Not enough young kids are reading!!!!!
