It depends on the schools. Go to some of the plays at the public school you would attend, and also some of the private schools. You'll see who has the money to spend on sets and costumes. When I was in high school, the boys' high schools did great shows. They had the money and manpower to rent the costumes and build the sets. The girls' schools frequently didn't get to have boys in the shows, so they'd either do lame productions of Little Women without any men, or girls played boys. A girl I knew did a great Fagin in Oliver, but the Bill Sykes/Nancy romance was pretty much dumped. But how many girls ever get a chance to play a great part like Fagin.

In either case, the same people get the parts over and over and other people never get a chance.

I just read the other two answers. I took the question to be about drama schools, not "drama" at schools.

I went to a private AND public school, so I know my stuff.
Private school drama's advantages are:
1. Can be cleared up quickly, since you see each other often.
2. You always have your best friends by your side.
Disadvantages:
1. You have to see this person often which may make things worse
2. Everyone knows about it
Public school drama's advantages are:
1. Can avoid people
2. Easier to keep on the down low
Disadvantages:
1. More people can get involved
2. May not make up as quickly because less communication

I don't know which one is worse xD

private school drama sucks.
theres really no advantages of it.
i went to a private school from 3rd grade to 8th grade.
private schools are so small and no one can keep their mouth shut to save their lives.
and word gets around easily.
so a lot of drama happens.
i'm a junior at a public highschool now though, and theres no drama at all. cause no one cares about drama, it's just highschool.
and it also depends on the people you hang out with. cause the ones i hang out with have no drama what so ever.
the advantage of that is no drama.
and really no disadvantages.
