mmm i think some people actually are serious when they say that while others hear it and think it will make them sound more like a die hard fan if they repeat it. i've deffinatley had a band change my life and to a certain degree save it. but not in the extreme way that some people talk about.

i'll be like, so did those band members like pushed you out of the way when a bus was loosing control and is about to hit you?
i keep thinking practical reasons why they were saved?
if they were saved just by listening to their music, seems pretty reatarted to me.
oh, wow, music saved me!
its pretty stupid in my opinion.

I'm old enough now to know that I mean it, and in retrospect I say it because there have been bands that *have* saved my life. I wouldn't say the teenybop shite I used to listen to so much, but I can safely say ABBA have been saving my life on a regular basis since I was a kid. You know Muriel's Wedding? I totally related to it.

It's none of my buisness.
It seems it's just the diehard MCR fans....and frankly, the fans that attack the people that hate MCR are idiots. I can't stand it when people say MCR is the only good band. Granted, they are my favorite, and I connect with their music in a way that I don't with any other band, and they DID change my life in an amazing way, but that does NOT give me the right to say all other music is crap.
Because it's not.
edit--why the thumbs down, people?

I never heard that but maybe it was a 'figure of speach' like saying, 'I'm dying to see that concert'. So without knowing the entire story, it's impossible to say what saved their life.

If that's how they feel at the time, good for them.

It's possible. Music is powerful. I wouldn't say it saved my life, but it has helped me through some very difficult times.

I think they knew they were in trouble and grabbed whatever stick they could find - including an emotion triggered by a song.
It wasn't that the band saved them - it was that they found a way out.
