..Anyone else when growing up get the pots and pans and bang them at midnight??? Go outside and holler "Happy New Year" and bang on the pots and pans??????? That was such a special time with the parents and family!!! have fun!

By any chance were you my next door neighbors? Everything you have mentioned we did exactly. At Midnight exactly my dad went out with his shotgun a blasted a few shots into the air. Imagine doing that today. We would all get arrested for sure.

Really we did fireworks...and the police always came and we ran like hell!!!!

OLDIES????? OMG my grandchildren and I always did it when I lived in Utah and now that I am no longer there they still think that is the way ti "ring in" the new year and they are youngsters! It is up to us oldies to keep the traditions going and going and going....
