How about the Nuvaring? You put it in and leave it in for 3 weeks. Then, throw it out, and go without it for 1 week. This is your inactive week. Then put in a new one.

Implanon is another option - it's an implant that gets put into your arm. It is effective immediately, and lasts for up to 3 years. You can get it taken out whenever you are ready to have children (if before the 3 years are up) and the medication leaves your system immediately - there is no delay in the return of your fertility like many of the other birth control methods.

Hormonal IUDs like Mirena are good for people who are monogamous. You can get pregnant immediately after the Mirena IUD is removed. It is 99.9% effective, similar to tubal ligation. If you are not in a long-term monogamous relationship, most doctors will not use this though since infections can occur in the string that dangles down. In terms of effectiveness and convenience, this is the "best" birth control, I believe.
Obviously abstinence is the best birth control though if not using an IUD.
Other options include the Depo Provera shot (every 3 months, must be done at a clinic) or, what I think is better, is the once-weekly patch. Any of these WITH a condom should be very effective. ALWAYS use a condom because STDs can ruin a woman's ability to have children when you want them.
If you are under 25, you should also ask your clinic for the shots to prevent cervical cancer.

There is not one "Best" for all women. But in my opinion, the "Best" for me is nuvaring. I've had the pill, which was tedious to me, I had the patch which kept falling off and the replacements are very expensive, but Nuvaring has always worked perfectly. Ask your doctor about it.

Depo "the shot" is not a good form of birth control as it affects the majority of women who take it very horribly.
http://www.rateitall.com/t-330-birth-control-methods.aspx
Please read the reviews on all birth control on this site and google "depo provera lawsuit" as there are several class action lawsuits against the makers of this drug.
I have a horrible memory as well, but I have my cell phone calendar alert set for daily at 5pm and I have not forgotten my pill in the past year and a half.
Try the ring, the patch, but not the shot.

Nuvaring. You insert it in your vagina once a month and it releases hormones.
The patch is also an option. You change it every week, but I found it very annoying and kinda ugly

the shot. you go in to the doctor every three months and get a shot and you only get your period a few times a year. you may want to try talking to your doctor about your options to find out which is best for you.
