You have to adjust for players being stronger and faster than they use to be. (In 1972 the avg weight of OL of the Dolphins was 250).
'89 49ers are better
Player for player they are better than the '07 Pats.
Montana over Brady
Rice over Moss
J Taylor over Welker, Stallworth, etc.
B. Jones over Watson
Craig over Maroney, Faulk, etc
Rathman over Evans
OL of the 49ers was better.
On defense, Ronnie Lott over Harrison.
The other members of the secondary of the 49ers were great too.
Charles Haley and Bill Romanoski over the the Pats LB.
The only edge I will give the Pats would be their front 4 on Defense.

2000 Ravens. The only D that could potentially SHUT OUT the pats O. All they need is a lucky turnover and a few field goals and they could stop the train. I don't think the 49ers could cause you cant beat the pats by trying to just outscore them.
