Does anyone have bad memories of the belt, picking switch or getting struck by a chancleta if you're Latino?

Honey, I thought my parents hated me they beat me so much. I used to get spankings from my mom by the switch and from my dad by the belt. I have had stripes from my shoulders all the way down to the back of my knees from spankings. I have plenty of bad memories from them. Both of my parents are gone now and I really miss them both. To the very day she died, my mother would still say she should have beaten me more. I don't guess I will ever understand why things had to be that way.

Nope my mom was beaten pretty bad and swore that neither she nor my dad would lay a hand on us and they never did. Thank goodness for that.

Yes, more times and more severely than I care to remember. I promised myself that I'd never do that sort of stuff to my children. I have two, and I don't. Neither do the grandparents, both dead now, and both never allowed to spend time alone with my kids.

yes!!! my dad would like hit me on top of the head with this nuckle. and he would spank me so hard and when i wouldnt cry he would make sure to spank me harder or pull my hair so that i would.
