I'm going to buy a ps3 in 3-4 weeks and I'm trying to figure out which one to buy....

I have $300 with me right now and 200 in the bank...I also want to buy call of duty 4...

Should I get the 40gb or 80? I have a good ps2 right now so I can use it for ps2/x games.

Also if anyone knows anywhere besides ebay where I can get a new one cheaper than 400 please tell!

If you have a working PS2 then you really don't need to get the 80 gb unless you think you're going to need the 40 extra gb of storage space. My guess is that you're not going to use it, so get the 40 gb if you want to save 100 bucks.

Just remember that the 40 gb only has 2 USB ports so you can only charge 2 Sixaxis on the PS3 at the same time, and the 40 gb doesn't have any flash drives, so you won't be able to upload pictures, music, etc. if they're not on USB drives.

Bah, 40 extra GB of space and a racing game do not justify a $100 price jump.

80 is obviously better, but more expensive. But if you do buy it, you can get MotorStorm with it free (it originally was 600, so you get $100 off and a free game). Over all, the 80g is a better deal, with the cross platform compatiblility, unless you want just the base model with Spider-Man 3 on blu-ray.
