was away on holiday over christmas.

i was due to start taking my pill on christmas day but then realised i forgot to bring it with me.

Im just home, so that means ive missed 5 days of pills.

Should i just start taking them from now? or how does it work?

thanks

No, you may have to skip this cycle of pills and start again next cycle. It's been too long and you may have already ovulated already and the pills won't help prevent pregnancy.

It would be best to use another form of contraception and start the pills after your next period.

there is an old asserting that, " u dont understand what u've have been given till ultimately u unfastened it." If you're speaking of birth control pills, then it is usually started at the beginning of your mentral period. If it's antibiotics, then you start them as soon as you can.

Now, if you start taking birth control pills in the middle of your mentral cycle, then don't have sex for at least 3 weeks. Those pills might help you get pregnant before then.

Call your doctor and ask him/her......... i believe you will probably be instructed to wait until after you get your period, and you would basically be starting over. Definately use condoms during this time and be extremely careful because you could get pregnant. But don't take our advise talk to your doctor they know what is best...... we do not have a phd. We are just pregnant women lol....... we don't have all the answers!

Throw away your pill pack, wait for your period to start, and then start a new pack as directed, it will be like when you first started them, if you just start taking them again without cycling through, they will be ineffective, and you could get pregnant.

Why is everyone so RUDE!!!! GEEZ!
I would just call your doc and ask but I think you start taking them from today, but don't have sex for a week til the hormones are running through you again. Birth control is out of your system in 24 hrs! You'll be fine I have done this B4 and it will just throw your cycle off a little, but really wait a week! And plz still call the doc, we are not doc's on here! Well maybe some of us are but not me! LOL Good luck!

They arent really effective for the first month you are on them so you can start taking them now. Don't miss any though and make sure you start the next cycle on time.

No one answers this because you have to follow the directions on your prescription. Most likely you have started your period and you should start taking them again the Sunday after your period ends. Call your doctor if you can't read.

Everyone ignores it because it's a question for the DOCTOR, we don't know the answer.
