What is the best flowering Cherry tree for San Diego coastal gardens?

I prefer double pink flowers but really want to make sure it BLOOMS!

I would try the Taiwan Cherry, Prunus campanulata, if you have to have a cherry tree. I think a flowering Peach like "Rubra plena" would probably do better in San Diego, and they are very pretty. Your extension agent, usually listed in the phone book under county government or University of California Extension Service, could make better suggestions.
