Railcar style apartment???

What is a railcar style apartment? (Looking at apt ads in Brooklyn)

It's in an attached building, so the apartments are front to back, narrow and long, and you walk thru one room to get to another...... you even might need to pass thru one bedroom to get to a second bedroom . I lived in one in the early 80's in a brownstone in Brooklyn- nice but they tend to be dark since there are windows in only the front and rear rooms.

They are long and narrow like: The kitchen is about 7 feet by 13 feet. The end room is about that same size and the middle room is about 8 by 19. The bathroom is roughly 4 by 6.
