I call it poetry.

Well, I write verse, but I really don't know if it's poetry . And I write ditties (mostly political) for local intimate revues and café-concerts. I like to think I am a talented writer of satirical verse.

Do you write poetry?
Yes I say, I do,
Volcanoes filled of molten word,
And out the hell they spew.
For its an act of nature,
nothing I think I can change,
A tragedy or love filled dream,
Who can really proclaim?

Get caught in webs of much cliche?
The spider proclaimed to me,
All ill do is follow my nose,
And flies sing higher than we.
And into the sky we lick the air
Great dance of harmony,
The poet sculpts visions and kisses dispair,
Through words we really do see.

..quite funny us minions all breaking into verse,
all we had to say was yes; the rest we could rehearse.

Yes, I do write poetry. I never used to until I started to hang out with my best friend. She writes poems about who her fantasy husband is and stuff (i.e Orlando Bloom, Wentworth Miller etc.) and I tried writing romantic poems too.

The thing is, they were never as good as hers. But I sort of know one of her guy friends (he only thinks of one thing) and he wanted me to write a poem about him. I did. It had humour and sexual innuendo (correction: the sex references were blatant!) and it made my friends laugh.

SO I found out that I could write humour, so since then I dedicate poems to people I know and don't regard very highly... I remember writing a very angry poem about a vile person I met... people found it very funny, but I am reluctant to post it here... too much swearing!

I write songs too, but they are cheesy to the extreme!

yes i do, my whole life i've been writting poetry (and i'm not that old either)
All my life is a poem, i've read and written poetry every single day of my life, if it's not a whole poem, i at least write a line or two and later come up with something that will go perfectly well with it...

You tell me--I hope so:

I Found A Tree Beside the Clear Brook

I found a tree beside the clear brook
That flows by the pasture-- a kindly nook
It seemed to be.
So, seating myself at it's oaken trunk,
And, weaving the leaves I rested among,
I sang a sad, sweet song for thee.

No brazen sounds. Only water running
Over stones and branches--coming
Down from somewhere--
And my quiet song of someone distant.
O! It really was quite pleasant,
And I am glad I chanced by there.

I wrote this today, and it isn't perfect, but I hope you like it. Happy New Year everyone.
