A woman suffered serious arm injuries when she was attacked by a dog, believed to be a rottweiler which had broken into her garden.
The 26-year-old was taken to hospital after being attacked in Fisher Street, Brierley Hill, in the West Midlands.

Believe it or not, I heard that on the radio, saw about it on TV and read about it in the papers, so I don't need your constant 'links', thank you very much.
Rottweilers should be caged seeing as you ask ! ! !

You have to look at the facts. 2 attacks in a week are 2 too many. I have had a few breeds of dogs in my life but I would never own one of these. Rottweilers and bull terriers are both dangerous breeds and , in my opinion should be banned in the UK unless we want these attacks to continue.

ive always been a firm believer ,in a dog as is good as its owner. but a spaniel i had.........god bless him,had one hell of a nasty streak in him, believe me when i say that dog was a pampered pooch, lavished with love.
but this streak he had in him was venomous, and one he never got rid of ,for some reason. its like humans.....some are nice with a good temperament, and some are still nice with a bad temperament. my view is these rottweilers and such have become a victim of discrimination, saying that , i wouldn't trust one at all. my point been....there's good and bad in all breeds.........and that includes humans.

I blame the idiots that own them. I know people that own rottweilers and they are very friendly.

Its just the idiots that own them.

No the only animal that should be banned anywhere is the "IRRESPONSIBLE HUMAN".

Dogs are part of the animal kingdom. When they are loose and roaming the street they revert to their primal nature. It appears the irresponsible owner is the one that should be sent to prison for 10 years and he'll think twice about neglecting his animals.

Why were they in her garden? Probably looking for food. So probably she did the natural thing -- tried to shoo them off and that's a no no in the animal kingdom. They had taken possession of that territory either because they found food or she appeared like an easy target.

You and other people are so quick to blame the animal. Humor me for a moment. Do the pointing gesture. 1 finger pointing away from you and 3 fingers pointing BACK TOWARDS you. Get my drift? So banned irresponsible humans and bad behaving animals will disappear.

I have been around fighting dogs all my life and NEVER has any of my dogs attacked anyone. I care for them. I keep them fed, give them medical treatment when necessary, I show them love and affection. Obviously this owner does not and now a human is suffering.

All dogs can do considerable damage. The problem lies with the fact that people can buy these dogs very easily. Yet they have no idea how to treat them . Or train them. Potential owners should be vetted and told . Large dogs like these should not be used as family pets.

Perhaps if they were to introduce a license fee of £500 and spot street checks to ensure they were licensed for Rottweillers we would cut the number of irresponsible people owning them.

Rotties should not be banned outright, when properly trained and managed they make excellent pets. However, people need to be aware of what sort of dog they're getting and take responsibility for them. Those who allow their dogs to roam freely, cause damage, or even present a possible threat to the community should be permanently banned from keeping such dogs. If the dog causes injuries the owner should be liable for medical costs as well as punitive damages. If the dog causes a death, the owner should be held fully responsible as if they did it themselves.
