I collect postcards sent home by soldiers during WW1, from the trenches in France. The messages are so poignant, they are a unique and very sad souvenir of a time gone by.

I collect coins and weird looking rocks. I used to collect bones of all kinds, but ran out of storage space and gave them to family and friends. I also collect and treasure memories, pretty much like everyone else.

I collect dragons, all kinds but most medeival types. Also Marcrest and Amberstone dishes, but those are not so much a collection as my everyday dishes. I also collect antique books, and have an extensive collection of gems and minerals, as well as crystals, many of which I have collected in Arkansas in the Mt Ida area. I also have quite a collection of antique and vintage jewelry, and handmade and antique beads from all over the world.

There are other collections also, antique and vintage glass Christmas ornaments, Santas and snowmen: Halloween collectibles; antique valentines; and my husband collects antique and vintage tools, and fishing lures.

If you want to count plants as a collection, I have an extensive hosta garden with some l50 different varieties, probably over 300 plants. And lots of wildflowers, I am always on the hunt for new species that will grow in my zone.

I guess I am just a crow, I like all kinds of shiny things and line my nest with them!

I collect sayings and poetry that I like. Here’s one I like a lot.

AN INFORMAL PRAYER

The proper way for a man to pray
Said Deacon Lemuel Keys,
And the only proper attitued,
Is down upon your knees.

Nay, I should say the way to pray,
Said Reverend Dr. Wise,
Standing straight with outstretched arms,
And rapt and upturned eyes.

Oh, no, no, no. Said Elder Snow;
Such posture is too proud.
A man should pray with eyes fast closed,
And head contritely bowed.

It seems to me his hands should be
Austerely clasped in front.
with both thumbs pointing toward the ground,
Said Reverend Dr. Hunt.

Las year I fell in Hodgkins well
Head first, said Cyrus Brown,
With both heels a-sticken up,
My head a-pointing down.

I made a prayer right then and there;
The best prayer I ever said:
The prayingest prayer I ever prayed;
A standing on my head.

Through out the years, I have collected, Blue Willow dinnerware and some Blue Willow figurines and vases.

I also collect milk white Fenton glass, vases, candy dishes, sugar and creamer,etc. etc. anything Fenton that is milk white.

Picture frames, old and new with family pictures.

We have our walls covered with about 2 hundred pictures, poems, quotes, and brass hangings, etc.. It sounds cluttered but it is well done and looks good. We even have pictures hanging in the hall and bathroom. Not much room for many more pictures.

I have been home bound for the last five years, so collecting came to a stop but I dearly love all my treasures and they give me a great deal of comfort.

Everyone of them has a story to tell and a lot of memories.

Someone gave me a Beanie Baby Robin once and then my daughter gave me a Blue Jay, so I now have a Flying collection of Beanie Babies. All birds or flying things. Bat and butterfly, too.

The other thing I got caught up with are Jack in the Box antenna balls. Everytime he comes out with a new on, I get it and throw it into a box simply marked "Jack"
