You should NEVER douche. Even when you aren't pregnant! Doing so throws off your body's natural PH balance, plus it washes away all of the good bacteria that helps prevent infections. (This is true even if you douche with plain water). Discharge is normal. It keeps bacteria out of your vagina.

Douching is NEVER good whether you're pregnant or not. Discharge is the vagina's way of shedding old epithelial cells and also a source of natural lubrication. If you feel the need to douche because of odor or irritation, you should definitely see a doctor to rule out an infection and get started on antiobiotics. Vaginal infections during pregnancy can cause preterm labor, miscarriage, or low birth weight babies. Good luck with your decision!

Regular vaginal douching changes the delicate chemical balance of the vagina and can make a woman more susceptible to infections. Douching can introduce new bacteria into the vagina which can spread up through the cervix, uterus, and fallopian tubes. Researchers have found that women who douche regularly experience more vaginal irritations and infections such as bacterial vaginosis, and an increased number of sexually transmitted diseases.

I would say NO..........

Women have natural lubricant. Do not douche. It is not good for you pregnant or not.

Discharge is normal and healthy and douching is NOT. By cleaning out your insides all the time you are also cleaning out good bacterias that your body needs. You really shouldn't douche at all - pregnant or not.
