Yeah, I'd be upset because traditionally (and perhaps a bit superstitiously) how you start the year is indicative of how the rest of the year will go....spend it together; be together most of the year. Spend it with co-workers, and you'll have to deal with those MFs all year long, even when you don't want to. Superstitions aside, she should want to come and celebrate some small portion of it with you ....especially while the kids are sleeping, don't you think?
However it goes, Happy New Year!

Boy, this is a loaded question.
Is she in the sex industry?
Does she normally go out with co-workers after a shift?
Does co-workers mean one cute guy or a real group?
Do you have any reason to believe she is up to no good?
Does she have any addictions?
Were you invited?
do you normally go out on NY together?
Any other spouses invited?
Will she be hung over and ugly the next day?
My feeling is, she should go home, but it is not something you can insist on. Either she wants to be with you or she wants to be out hooting around.
Why not find out what the truth is, instead of using your emotions to browbeat her?
I guess you need to find out the truth of her feelings and committment, instead of deciding whether or not to be upset.
You may BE upset, but so what?
Maybe she is trying to tell you something you need to know and deal with. Maybe she isn't committed, maybe she is trying to escape her responsibility.
I would tell her, I think she should decide what she wants to do, and go do it. Tell her it bothers you, if it does.
Communicate! This might be a chance to make real communication possible, instead of reaction, hurt feelings, unanswered questions, and deceit.

No, Dont be a controlling ******. You have no reason to want to have her home other than that you arent there, and have no plans to do it. Did you want to hang out with her at 4AM?

No. If the tables were reversed, would "she" be upset if you went out with your buddies? I'd say NOT. So sounds to me like she's the one bringing home the bacon. That means she get "time to go with her buddies". You sound like your a stay at home dad so Stay Home And Take Care Of The Babies.
