so, you got a Ford Pinto and you wanna drive it to the moon, alice... (i hadto)

well, you can't...

without a few patented Pimp Your Ride customizations!

First. No road... this is actually rather important for some reason that escapes me (one moment while I take my meds)

Oh, yeah! Its a CAR! Sorry... can't build you a road to the Moon, BUT lets build a ladder instead. Our Moon anchor will be a giant gumdrop (cause the Moon wobbles more than a bit) and we will connect it to a giant ring around the earth, mostly orbiting in LEO, a part of the ring will be geared (lets use super-conducting magnets, no good reason, I just like to say that) to stay always pointing at the Moon.

Your Pinto goes into the trunk of the space shuttle to get to LEO, as there is really NO WAY I am going to blast a Ford into space on its own.

Now, first Pimp on the car... magnetic tires.

(lets skip the air, water, food... dear, you gotta wear a spacesuit and a diaper, sorry)

That under-powered 2.3L 88 horse job has GOT to go. Lets throw in a few electric motors and a snootful of batteries.

Your calculation of 130 days required you to drive 24 hrs a day... at a constant speed. Well, I see no reason that we can't use .05g acceleration halfway there and brake the rest of the way...

Hey! That's my bus! Sorry, gotta run

(someday I will fix my calculator)

Could you just imagine the size the gas tank would have to be for a trip like that?
Happy New Year!

You're driving too fast. Slow down or we won't have enough gas to get back. (are we there yet?.................How 'bout now?)
